FAMILY PLUS Preschool - December 1

Hey Parents and Grandparents,

Christmas is one of the most exciting times of the year for a preschooler. It is full of family, fun, food, and fellowship. This is sondergu

I have a sweet story from a preschool parent. The conversation was with a mother and her 4 year old son. She was telling him he needed to go and he was telling her he didn't need to. The mother told him he needed to go to his Wednesday night class so he could learn about Jesus. He replied with "I already know everything about Jesus." The mother then asked "Oh Yea, then where was Jesus born?" He said proudly with enthusiasm "Duh He was born in the United States." Then she told him that he would be going to class.

This Sunday, December 4, 2011, your child will hear about:

Isaiah Wrote that Jesus Would Be Born (Isaiah 1:1; 6:1,8; 7:14; 9:6-7; 11:1-5)
Bible story brief:
• Isaiah (eye ZAY uh) lived in Jerusalem in the country of Judah. Isaiah heard God say, “Who shall I send to tell people my message?”
• Isaiah said, “Send me, God. I will go.” Isaiah became a prophet. A prophet tells people what God wants them to know.
• God chose Isaiah to tell the people some wonderful news. Isaiah told people what God told him. He wrote about what God told him.
Isaiah told and wrote words about God’s special plan. Isaiah wrote that a young woman would have a son, a special baby boy. The
special baby would be God’s Son. The baby would be Jesus.
• God’s message helped the people know that Jesus would love all people. Jesus would help people understand more about God. He
would grow into a man. He would be wise. He would help people know and love God. He would always do what is right and would help
people.
• The words Isaiah wrote were written on a Bible scroll. People who heard or read the words on the Bible scroll knew that God was
planning to send His Son, Jesus.

Bible Truth - People wrote about God’s plan to send Jesus.
Life Application - I can know God promised to send Jesus.
Bible Verse - God will send a child to be born. Isaiah 7:14

Conversation Starter
: You can have a nativity scene available for your child to arrange and use this month. As your child picks up Baby Jesus ask: “Who is that?” Open your Bible to Isaiah 7:14. Say: “Isaiah wrote God’s words in the Bible. They were about Baby Jesus. Isaiah tells us ‘God will send a child to be born.’” Ask: “Who was this child?” (Jesus)
