FAMILY PLUS Preschool - August 25

Hi Parents!

We will say these Bible phrases frequently during conversation with your preschooler about their play and activity at church. Try using these phrases at home to reinforce your child’s familiarity with the Bible words and ideas.
As you enjoy this special time with your child, discover anew how much God loves you and your family.
God helps us learn. Proverbs 2:6
We are helpers. 2 Corinthians 1:24
Be kind and care about others. Ephesians 4:32

Bible Story: A Man Thanked Jesus (Luke 17:11-19)

Bible Story Brief
•  Jesus went everywhere telling people about God and doing kind things for them. One
day Jesus was walking to Jerusalem.
•  Along the way Jesus met 10 sick men. They had sores all over their bodies. These men
could not live in town with other people. The sick men had to leave their families and
move outside of town.
•  When the 10 sick men saw Jesus, they called out to Him, “Jesus! Please help us!” Jesus
saw the sores on the men’s hands and feet. Jesus told the sick men to go into the town
and show themselves to the church helpers.
•  The 10 men started down the road as Jesus told them to do. And suddenly, the sores on
their bodies were gone! Jesus had made the 10 sick men well!
•  When one man saw that he was well, he came back to Jesus. The man knelt at Jesus’
feet and thanked Him.
•  Jesus knew that He had made 10 men well. But Jesus was glad this one man had
stopped to thank Him.

Bible Story: A Man Thanked Jesus  (Luke 17:11-19)

Bible Story Brief

standing close by. They were sick with leprosy, a skin disease. They had
sores all over their bodies. They could not get close to people or they
would make them sick, too. The men shouted to Jesus, “Help us!”
•  Jesus said, “Go to the priests (church leaders). Show them your arms
and legs.” The men started walking toward the town.
•  As they walked, they noticed the leprosy was gone. All the sores on
their bodies had disappeared. Jesus had healed them! It was a miracle!
Jesus had made them well! They hurried to the town to show they were
well again.
•  One man stopped walking. He turned and ran back to Jesus. In a loud
voice, the man praised and thanked God. He knelt in front of Jesus.
“Thank You, Jesus,” the man said.
•  Jesus said, “Ten men were healed. Only one man came back.” Jesus was
happy the man was thankful. Jesus told the man, “Get up. Go to your
