Jeremiah Wrote God’s Words
Jeremiah 36:1-4,22-24,27-28,32

Bible Story Brief -
• Jeremiah was a prophet. He told the people what God wanted them to know. One day, God said to Jeremiah,“Get a scroll.Write the words I have spoken to you.”
• Jeremiah sent for his helper Baruch (BAY rook),a scribe.A scribe writes words for people. Jeremiah wanted Baruch to write the words that God had said. God wanted the people to stop doing wrong things and start doing right things.
• Jehudi (jih HYOO digh), a messenger of the king, read the scroll to the king. As Jehudi read some of the scroll, the king cut that part of the scroll into pieces and threw the pieces into the fire. The king did not care that the words from the Bible scroll were from God.
• God spoke to Jeremiah again. God said,“Get another scroll.Write the words again on the new scroll.”
• Jeremiah got another scroll and gave it to Baruch. Baruch wrote all the words that were on the first scroll. God told Jeremiah more words to write on the scroll, and Baruch added those words to the Bible scroll.

Bible Verse -
God said, “Write the words I have spoken to you.” Jeremiah 36:2
Life Application - I can learn that God planned for people to write His words.
Bible Truth - People wrote God’s words in the Bible.

Your parent challenge this week - When you are finished with the Sunday paper, invite your child to choose some pages from the paper. Give him a red crayon, and challenge him to find the letter G  in the paper and circle it. Help your child, as needed. Comment: “The word God  begins with the letter G. Jeremiah wrote God’s words in the Bible.” Turn to Jeremiah 36 and tell the Bible story.
